Portsmouth based Daniamant Ltd has been named winner of the EEF South East Region Outstanding Export Award, for the success of its export strategy which led to an increase in export sales of 49% over a two year period and now represents 60% of the companies turnover.

Daniamant Ltd produces survivor location lights for the marine, military, civil and aviation markets. The company won the Outstanding Export Award, sponsored by DHL, for the way in which it reacted to the demise of one market segment and identified opportunities through careful research to expand into new markets . It focussed on growth in the USA, leading to the development of a new product, but in the last three years has also seen growth in China, Denmark, France, Germany and the UAE.

Commented Kevin Rough, General Manager of Daniamant Ltd:

“Winning this award is excellent news for the company. Over the last three years we have overcome a number of challenges, particularly in gaining approval to our new product in the USA. However, with a clear strategy, smart processes and good product development, backed up with a lot of patience, communication and hard work, very pleasing results have prevailed.”
