FLS 3D

3D Forward Looking Sonar

The FLS 3D Forward Looking Sonar gives captains a real-time, three-dimensional view of the seabed ahead of the vessel. It displays underwater terrain and potential hazards in full colour, helping improve confidence when navigating shallow, unfamiliar or restricted waters.

FLS 3D

3D Forward Looking Sonar

The FLS 3D can be connected to a third-party display via HDMI or VGA, and now also integrates directly with compatible Raymarine, Simrad, B&G and Lowrance MFDs. When connected to the MFD network, the EchoPilot/FLS 3D app appears on the display, allowing users to view forward looking sonar directly on their existing navigation screen.

With direct MFD integration, users can view sea charts and forward-looking sonar at the same time, including in split-screen layouts. The full 3D sonar image can be rotated by touch through 360 degrees and zoomed for a closer view of the seabed terrain and potential hazards ahead.

The FLS 3D scans the seabed in a 60-degree horizontal plane and 90-degree vertical plane, with a forward range of up to 200 metres and depth detection up to 100 metres. Its 20x depth-to-range ratio means that, in suitable conditions, 5 metres of water beneath the vessel can provide up to 100 metres of forward seabed visibility.

The system is also equipped with Average Forward Depth, which provides a quick digital reading of the average depth ahead of the vessel based on sonar returns. This gives the skipper useful forward-looking depth information, complementing a conventional depth sounder that only shows the depth directly underneath the boat.

The FLS 3D updates in real time, with the display refreshing approximately every second, helping the captain stay informed of seabed changes and hazards ahead.

Direct MFD Integration

The FLS 3D now integrates directly with compatible Raymarine, Simrad, B&G and Lowrance multifunction displays. The Visual Processor connects to the display network using the appropriate network connection, allowing the EchoPilot/FLS 3D app to run directly on the MFD.

Once connected, the sonar image can be viewed full-screen or combined with charts and other navigation data in split-screen layouts. Range settings, menu settings, zoom and 360-degree image rotation can be controlled directly from the display, giving skippers a clear and convenient view of the seabed ahead.

FLS 3D Gen4 – Direct MFD Integration

Designed for integration with compatible Raymarine, Simrad, B&G and Lowrance MFDs. The system is supplied with an On/Off switch, while sonar operation is controlled directly through the MFD touchscreen.

FLS 3D – Third-Party Display

Designed for use with any suitable third-party display with HDMI or VGA video input. The system is supplied with the FLS 3D keypad for control of range, menu settings and system operation.
