FLS 3D – 30 Degree
The FLS 3D – 30 Degree Forward Looking Sonar is a groundbreaking single-transducer forward-looking sonar, giving boat owners access to commercial-level underwater awareness. The system displays a real-time 3D visualisation of the seabed ahead of the boat, helping the captain navigate with greater confidence in shallow, poorly charted or unfamiliar waters.
The FLS 3D – 30 Degree can be connected to any third-party display via HDMI or VGA video output. It now also integrates directly with compatible Raymarine Axiom, Simrad, B&G and Lowrance MFDs via the onboard network, allowing forward-looking sonar to be viewed directly on the vessel’s multifunction display.

FLS 3D – 30 Degree
The FLS 3D – 30 Degree Forward Looking Sonar is a groundbreaking single-transducer forward-looking sonar designed to provide a real-time 3D view of the seabed ahead of the vessel. By visualising underwater terrain before it reaches the boat, the system gives the captain greater awareness when navigating shallow water, poorly charted areas, harbours, anchorages and unfamiliar approaches.
The FLS 3D – 30 Degree offers flexible display options. It can be connected to any third-party display using HDMI or VGA video output, or integrated directly with compatible Raymarine Axiom, Simrad, B&G and Lowrance MFDs through the vessel’s network connection. Once connected, the EchoPilot/FLS 3D app appears on the MFD, allowing the user to view forward-looking sonar in real time directly on the display.
With direct MFD integration, users can combine sea charts and forward-looking sonar in split-screen layouts for convenient navigation. The 3D sonar image can be rotated through 360 degrees using the touchscreen, and the zoom function provides a closer view of seabed terrain and potential hazards ahead.
The FLS 3D – 30 Degree scans the seabed in a 30 degree horizontal plane and 90 degree vertical plane. The system offers a forward range of up to 200 metres and depth detection of up to 100 metres.
The system is equipped with Average Forward Depth technology. Average Forward Depth provides the average depth of the water ahead based on sonar readings, giving a clear indication of the seabed conditions in front of the vessel. Compared with a traditional depth sounder, which only shows the depth directly beneath the boat, Average Forward Depth provides valuable information about the water the vessel is moving towards.
The FLS 3D – 30 Degree offers a depth-to-range ratio of up to 20x water depth. This means the system can show seabed information up to 100 metres ahead when there are 5 metres of water beneath the boat, depending on seabed conditions. The display updates in real time, helping the captain stay informed of seabed terrain and potential hazards ahead.
